Vacancies

We all know that being a parent is the most important job in the world… and it isn’t always easy!

At H.O.P.E. (Harrow) we believe passionately that every family is unique and special and that every family has the right to determine and achieve their goals in life. We are committed to improving the relationship between young people and their families by ensuring easy and affordable access to participate in parenting support that meets diverse needs. We aim to deliver high quality specialised services accessible to individuals and the local community in Harrow and the neighbouring boroughs.

Are you the type of person that could help us achieve our aims? We are currently seeking a new Chair and a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This is an exciting time of development for us as we strive to create sustainability and growth of our Charity. We are looking to grow our income, raise our profile and develop our range of services to parents.

Do you have an interest in parental support and education? Have you some knowledge of one or more of the following:

  • Media – public relations, marketing?
  • Fundraising and networking?
  • Financial management and administration of charities?

You will be a parent and available to attend quarterly trustee meetings and regular monthly meetings with the Director. Knowledge of the voluntary sector and an understanding of governance are all essential, as is an empathy with our mission and aims.

Our charity values diversity and wishes to create a Board of Trustees which reflects the community with whom we work. Applications are particularly sought from people with an ethnic minority background.

These are unpaid appointments. For an informal discussion, call Cathy Burns (Chair) on 07795 060813 or alternatively request a full copy of the job description and person specification from Maxine Gabriel, Director, at maxine@hopeharrow.org.uk or H.O.P.E.(Harrow), The Lodge, 64 Pinner Road, Harrow, HA1 4HZ.

A comprehensive induction programme will be provided for all new trustees who join the Board.

Closing date for returned applications is 12 noon on Thursday 31st July.
